Representatives from the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development (CARD) headquarters in Manila, Philippines visited Capital Sisters in Denver for a series of business meetings followed by a reception held at the Durst Studio, Gallery and Sculpture Garden. The celebratory event provided an opportunity for Capital Sisters supporters and investors to learn about CARD’s work first hand.
CARD is one of the pre-eminent microfinance institutions in the Philippines, and since 1989 has been serving poor, landless rural women with financial and livelihood products and services so that they can provide for their families and better serve their community and the environment.
The Durst Studio, Gallery and Sculpture Garden, located on South Broadway’s Antique Row in Denver Colorado, is a combination of renovated turn of the century brick Victorian house and re-purposed automotive garage. It serves as a showplace for the significant work of Peter Durst, as well as a working and teaching facility.
