WorldDenver hosted its signature annual event, International Women’s Day, on March 8th, 2017 at the Denver Art Museum. International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This year’s event celebrated the achievements of women in global health, while delving into the sharp health disadvantages for women and their families both in the U.S. and abroad. The keynote speaker was business executive and best-selling author Sheryl WuDunn, the first Asian-American reporter to win a Pulitzer Prize. WuDunn and her husband Nicholas D. Kristof won the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 1990 for their coverage of the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.
